‘Circe’ – Depression-Era Dresser SOLD

‘Circe’ Depression-Era Dresser

Description

Exquisite Depression-Era Dresser.

Hand painted with moody tones of black, grey. Image transfer of John William Waterhouse’s painting ‘Circe Offering the Cup to Ulysses’ (1891). It’s quite a bewitching and intoxicating image, which lends itself to this superb piece of furniture. Finish is lightly distressed to give an authentic patina.

Solid construction, dovetailed joints, six drawers with original hardware. Beautiful detailed carving.

Trying to list this as merely a ‘dresser’ or a great piece of furniture for storage doesn’t do it justice.

Seriously.

It’s a piece of art.

If you decide to put stuff in it, that’s your prerogative.

Measures approximately: 56″H x 21″D x 35″W

Local pickup from Portland, Oregon is greatly welcomed. Please contact me if shipping is required, I’d love to work with you on it. In the past I’ve had great success with UShip. Shipping is not included in the price.

Custom pieces are available on request, time permitting.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
