Description
I had originally painted this piece plain white.
Blah.
I hated it. I hate white. Just blah, blah and more blah.
So
I refinished it. This is ‘my’ style.
The piece is originally from India, via San Francisco via Portland. It’s a massive, heavy piece of furniture. I had distressed the mirrors using gold metallic paint. I wanted the piece to look decadent, rich and bold. Now the mirrors shine with a distressed, aged golden glow to them. Quite stunning.
The color is still neutral (Old Ochre/French Linen Annie Sloan chalk paint) but with General Finishes Burnt Umbre glazed the French Linen turns a deeper brownish. The carved detail has blue highlights, with glaze and gold mica powder, and wax.
It’s heavenly.
It’s heavenly, and massive. And solid. For this reason, I think I’d like to try and do local pickup (Portland, Oregon). If you feel somehow inclined to ship a giant, massive, heavy piece of furniture let me know – maybe you can talk me around.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
