Fresco Dresser SOLD
My love for Italy continues.
I loved the bones of this piece, and I immediately knew that I wanted to try and make it resemble a piece found somewhere in Italy. Complete with frescos.
It’s a beautiful piece. And it deserves to be a focal point of a room.
I used a new paint called Mia Colore (not available yet in the US). Their paint is based on an Italian palette. And, it is rather lovely. I wanted lots of texture, aged distressing. The piece has it’s blemishes. I like that. I don’t want my pieces to look new and shiny.
I want patina. I want age. I want my pieces to tell hidden stories.
The transfer image is of Ponte Rotto, Rome by G Van Wittel.
And it does resemble a fresco.
I gold leafed the trim work, and the original hardware. Although the paint doesn’t require it, I have used Mia Colore wax because I love the look and feel of it.
If you want a truly unique piece of furniture. Like no other. And if you love Italy. This may be the piece for you.
Measurements are approx 52″H x 36″W x 18″D
